Fun & Fashion

So, I know I haven't updated the blog for a while. so here is a nice collective haul entry consisting of make-up, jewellery and clothes.

So, let's start with good old trusty cosmetics. I popped into Lush and picked up a Bubblegum lip scrub, tried it out last night - works a treat. My lips had been feeling a little worn out all day and after using it my lips instantly felt in better condition, afterwards I applied a little MAC lip conditioner and shall repeat the process tonight. Speaking of MAC, I went to my local MAC counter to book myself in for the makeover my Mother had kindly paid for as a Christmas present and while I was there I made an enquiry as to whether their "special drawer" had any goodies from past collections and ended up picking myself up the Black Knight lipstick from Style Black, I figured it would be useful for darkening up other lipsticks and transforming their colour therefore in a way doubling my choice where lipstick shades are concerned. I don't think I'm daring enough to wear Black Knight on its own. I also picked up an Utter Fun lustre lipstick it's a gorgeous deep bright pink shade that compliments my skin tone. The Urban Decay counter happens to be MAC's neighbour so I also picked up a Preen book which comes complete with the eyeshadows: Snatch, Mildew, Flash, Painkiller, Smog and Toasted; also included is a mini Primer potion and a 24/7 pencil in Zero.

The make-up lust didn't end there though, I also embraced good old drug-store level and picked up a lipstick in the Supermarket Asda from their George moisturising lipstick collection in the colour 16 Liar, it's an orange toned red (I must be feeling the bright colours as a backlash to the dull grey English weather)

While I was there I picked up two nail polishes from Collection 2000, the Hot Looks range in 29 Big Hair and 32 BMX Bandit (loving those names haha) I also got a chunky striped statement ring and a multi coloured bangle bracelet.

Then came Primark, where I picked up a Foiled Again set which has a set of sparkly false lashes and 3 colourful eyeliners in Tequila Sunrise, Aqua Horizon and Pink Fizz. While in Primark I picked up a trilby hat with a sequin band, a chunky black sparkly ring and some candy stripe sunglasses.

I've also recently taken advantage of the Matalan sale where I bought a pair of grey and hot pink platform heels (told you I was rebelling against winter) a chunky blue statement ring and a purple embellished slinky tunic, there may also have been two new handbags purchased all to the bargain tune of £14.50!

And finally, Littlewoods and Tesco! I got a beautiful silver cardigan in Tesco from the Signature range for £8.00 and also pretty black drop earrings for £2.50 which looks stunning on. From Littlewoods I got a pair of aztec design leggings, and a couple of print cowl neck tunics. I also ordered a super cute Disney Tinkerbell "Believe" necklace but sadly as pretty as it is, it looks cheap and flimsy and definitely like it would probably break within a few wears so it's being returned.

And now for the pictures*

So what have you been buying lately to try and beat the winter blues?

Until next time, stay fabulous! x

Update

In my previous blog I mentioned wanting to try the lip scrubs by the Lush sister company B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful. Today I had the new Lush Times come through and it would seem that Lush shall be making and distributing them from now on, this may be old news to some people, but I'm just now finding this out. I am happy about this development, really looking forward to trying out the Bubble Gum one!

On that note I would like to wish you all a wonderful and beautiful New Year x

Rediscovered

At the risk of this blog looking like a Lush commercial I have rediscovered a love of Lip Service.

Last night, my lips were feeling dry and tight as they often do this time of year because of the bitter cold combined with central heating, yes I keep my lips conditioned with various different products. But I always seem to find the moisturising effect doesn't last long.

However last night I was looking in my make-up kit and there was my Lip Service which has been neglected for some time. So I put a generous application on my lips just before getting into bed and today my lips feel in such better condition, granted still not as silky soft as I'd like, but I'm a lot closer to that smooth pout I've been working towards than I was previously.

I'll apply another generous helping of the balm tonight and see what my lips feel like tomorrow.

I'm now wanting to try a lip scrub by Lush's sister company B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful to see if I can maximise the softening effect even more.

I've currently got Mum trying out the Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment that I bought her as a Christmas present, I'm going to gage how well it works for her and possibly invest in a tube of it for myself if she likes it. At £20 a go I don't want to buy myself some until I know how well it works. Then again we're all different and what works wonders for one may be less than spectacular for someone else....we'll see.

Until next time my lovelies x
